So What is SEO or Search Engine Optimisation?
So you now have a website and it is visible when your clients enter your web address (called URL) into a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Firefox, or Safari, and it looks great.
But what do you do if you want to be found when potential clients don’t know your web address, and you need to get your products and/or services out to a wider audience?
Search Engine Optimisation (or SEO) is one answer. Unfortunately it is also a very grey area, and there are many companies sending out emails or cold calling, claiming your website will be No.1 on Google. To coin an English term… BOLLOCKS. If they could guarantee that, why are they:
- Cold calling you
- Not listed high on Google themselves (if they were, they wouldn’t need to cold call)
Unfortunately, there are many stories where clients have been charged ridiculous sums, for little to no result.
“I don’t promise what I don’t believe I can deliver”
For a set fee, your website will be analysed for current ranking, structure (in that it meets Google’s requirements), and for products or services provided against similar businesses. Based on this report, you will have an overview of where your site is positioned, and if there is or isn’t, a high probably of obtaining a higher ranking.
If the chances are low, I won’t tell you otherwise. Conversely, if the chances are good, I’ll provide you a written quote outlining the proposed changes, the effects of which can take a couple of months to be picked up by Google.
